E-36 (from NFFS rulebook 02/01/2012) Model Requirements 1. 36 in. maximum projected wingspan allowed. 2. 120 gm. minimum weight, ready-to-fly, required. 3. No autosurfaces allowed. Power Requirements 1. Any type electric motor allowed. 2. Nickel or lithium batteries allowed, 2-cell lithium limit or 6-cell nickel limit. 3. Gearing and folding props allowed. Flight Requirements 1. Two minute maxes required for all flights 2. First three official flights to be made with a 15 sec. motor run each. If all maxes, a fourth flight to be made with 10 sec. motor run, and if maxed, then all later flights to be made with 5 sec. motor runs until a max is dropped. 3. Six attempts for the first three official flights is allowed, immediate declaration required and 20 sec. maximum for attempts, overruns being automatic attempts for the first three official flights and overruns after the third official flight to be automatically awarded a "0" score Be advised: the motor runs and two-minute maxes prescribed are seen as appropriate for large field competition. CD’s are encouraged to modify the motor runs and maxes to suit local conditions. This is a NFFS event and records won’t be kept, so fly smart and keep your models on the field.
TTOMA RUBBER SPEED 1. This event is for propeller driven rubber-powered models.2. No model dimension may exceed 36 inches. 3. Models may ROG from a takeoff table or be hand launched. The ROG table may be set at any angle to suit the contestant. Neither wheels or takeoff gears are required. Dollies, dropoff gears or skids may be used. 4. The length of the speed course shall be 100 feet, starting at the end of the takeoff table. 5. The model may not roll about its longitudinal axis more than 360 degrees during its travel over the course. 6. There will be no limit to the number of flight attempts permitted. 7. The model shall be timed from the time it is launched until it passes over the finish line. Flights shall be timed to the nearest 1/100 of a second. The fastest speed will determine the winner.
A-6 RULES 1. Maximum projected wing area 30 sq. inches. To facilitate area processing a dimensioned wing outline drawing with area calculations shall be provided to the CD.2. All wing, rudder & stabilizer construction including wing and stabilizer posts shall be 1/16" Sq. minimum, except ribs. Minimum rib size shall be 1/32" X 1/16". Posts may be rounded only in the area of mounting tubes, if used. 3. Propeller 6-inch maximum diameter. Blades to be flat 1/32" minimum sheet wood, no forming (no twist or camber). 4. Maximum motor stick length 6 inches measured from the thrust bearing face to the rear hook. 5. Weight 1.2 grams minimum without rubber. 6. Covering: tissue, condenser paper, gampi. No plastic. 7. CHATTAHOOCHEE CHALLENGE 1. Maximum projected wing span is 20 inches.2. Wing, rudder & stabilizer construction shall be made of sheet wood. 3. Propeller has no maximum diameter. Propeller may be made of wood, plastic or foam. 4. Motor stick shall be solid stick. (No built up bodies allowed). There is no maximum motor stick length. No limitation on type of thrust bearing used. 5. No minimum weight. 6. Rubber Powered. 7. Official Flights: An official flight occurs when the model remains in flight for forty (40) seconds more. 8. Unofficial Flights: An unofficial flight occurs when the flight time is less than forty (40) seconds. Flights of less than forty (40) seconds may be declared official at the option of the contestant. The contestant’s decision must be made immediately and cannot be reversed later. 9. Number of Flights: Each contestant shall be allowed a total of six (6) attempts to make three (3) official flights of over forty (40) seconds.
